Jing LinViolin Instructor
Mr. Lin was a violinist in Zhujiang Film Orchestra, and has taught the violin in the Bay Area for about 20 years. Under his instruction, the students are able to join the youth symphony orchestras of their choice. One of his students became the concertmaster, and another principal second violin.
Bei ChenCello Instructor
Mr. Chen started playing the cello in the Children's Music School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music at the age of ten. After graduation from the Conservatory's middle music school in 1969, he played the cello professionally with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Peking Opera House and Shanghai Philharmonic Society. Chen is a member of China Cello Academy and Shanghai musicians' Association. He came to the United States to study arts management in 1990. Now he is teaching cello in the South Bay Area.
Melody LiuGuitar Playing-Singing/Music Fundamental Instructor
Received Master's Degree in Music from Colorado State University in 2013 and Certificate of Music Therapy from Shenandoah University, VA in 2011. Liu has led group and individual guitar activities with children in elementary schools, adults at group homes, and seniors at skilled nursing facilities in the state of Virginia, Colorado, and California. She loves leading them to sing by playing the guitar because she believes this vocal-instrumental music can easily touch people and bring them simple happiness.
Ami ZhouPiano/Music Theory Instructor
Received an Master Degree in Piano Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Bachelor Degree from Sichuan Conservatory of Music in China. Before coming to the U.S. for her graduate study, she was a faculty member in the Piano Department of Sichuan Conservatory of Music. Ms. Zhou is a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and of Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) since 2003. Also she is a board member of MTAC Palo Alto Branch since 2011. She has received many awards from national and international Piano competitions. Ms. Zhou has been teaching private piano lesson since 1993, some of her students went on pursuing professional music careers and many have passed the highest level in the Piano Examination.
I-Lan Emily LinPiano Instructor
Ms. Ilan Emily Lin, an experienced performer and music educator, graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Masters Degree in Music Education. She started her piano lessons at age of five, continuing through her graduate school under Dr. Richard Bundy, Dr. Linda Thornton, Dr. Robert Gardner, and French pianist Ms. Marylene Dosse. Receiving training from young children music programs such as MYC (Music for Young Children), Harmony Road, and Musik Garten, she has been teaching children's group piano class since 2006 in the Bay Area. Currently, Emily is a member of American College of Musician.
Ms. Lin created a fun and inventive piano teaching style, which can be adapted for students of different ages and levels to reach each student's individual goals, in classical and popular piano. In group lessons, not only do her students play piano pieces, but also improve on ear training and music theory. She focuses on assisting students with proper posture and finger power to build a strong foundation, especially for beginning students. She helps students strengthen their piano technique and tone quality in addition to playing a variety of musical genres.
Emma Chen-Hua LinPiano Instructor
Pianist and composer. When studying in National Taiwan University of Arts, Ms. Lin was a represent visiting student in Music Technology Department of Kingston University in London. She continued in Kings College London and Musician Institute Hollywood (MI) for her graduate degree. Performing in Cultural Kingston, Kingston Got Talent, Children Image Festival in London, Emma also had an opportunity playing with Soundbank Ensemble in Queen Elizabeth Hall. Currently she is actively composing and collaborating with musicians from French, England, America, and India for original music, and published her own album in 2014.
