Trombone
Nathan Pang
Pang has been a musician for more than twenty years. He started playing the trombone professionally in 1997. In 2004, Pang was accepted by Tianjin Conservatory of Music and earned his Bachelor’s degree in music composition in 2009, with focus on the study of audio engineering and computer music production. In 2012 Pang earned the Master of Arts degree from San Francisco State University, where he studied music theory and composition from the famous composers and professors Ronald Caltabiano and Richard Festinger. His music works have explored many genres including instrumental solo, small ensemble, chamber music, symphonic orchestra, and electronic music, etc. While studying music theory and compositions, Pang never stop playing the trombone and is now still an active trombonist in a variety of music groups, such as Newark Symphonic Winds since 2012, South Bay Trombone Choir, and Bay Area Chinese Brass Quintet since 2019. Pang has more than fifteen years of experience teaching the trombone, music theory, and music composition. He enjoys teaching students of all skill levels from beginner to the advanced.
