BA from Central Conservatory of Music in 1986 and a member of China Musician Association and an examiner in the Chinese National Music Performing Examination Committee. From 1986 to 1999, Yu was a soloist in China National Chinese Orchestra and recorded for movie and TV soundtracks. Before moving to the United States in 1999, Yu visited over 20 countries along with the Conservatory and Orchestra including Germany, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and Japan. Honors
